Hornets sting Pats; Warriors beat Lions

PLATTSBURGH - The Plattsburgh Hornets boys varsity basketball team used a 48-21 run over the middle two quarters to pull away from the AuSable Valley Patriots Jan. 24. for a 79-54

Kyle LaPoint led the Hornets with a 19 point effort, while Andrew Favro scored 14 points, Tre Bucci scored 12 points, Ethan Votraw and Anthony Porcelli scored eight points and Justin Curtis scored seven points.

For the Patriots, Brody Douglass scored 15 points, while TJ Burl scored 12 points, Jordan Coolidge scored 10 points, Connor Manning scored eight points, Michael Hart and Justin Hart each scored five points and Nick Rhino scored two points.

Schroon Lake 70, Westport 30

The Wildcats used a 39-10 stretch over the middle two quarters to beat the Eagles Jan. 28.

Liam Davis scored 11 points for the Eagles, while Kevin Russell scored six points, Gabe Schrauf scored five points, Will Adams scored four points and the duo of Cooper Sayward and Alex Frum scored two points.

AVCS 69, NAC 44

The Patriots scored the final 14 points in a 21-8 first quarter en route to an easy win over the Bobcats Jan. 27.

TJ Burl led the Patriots attack with 15 points, while Brody Douglass scored 11 points, Jordan Coolidge added 10 points, Connor Manning and John Hickey scored nine points, Nick Rhino and Justin Hart scored four points and Austin House scored three points.

Cam Garrand scored 18 points for the Bobcats, while Colby Sayah scored six points and had six assists, Jesse Smith had four points and nine rebounds and Craig Garnder had five points.

Willsboro 51, ELCS 36

The Warriors pulled away from the Lions with a 19-6 second quarter in winning Jan. 29.

Alex Hamel scored 16 points to lead the Warriors, while Clay Sherman added 12 points, Brandon Bertrand scored 11 points, Clayton Cross scored five points, Patrick Wells, John Pollock and Nick Nagavci scored two points and Nick Ball scored one point.

Charlie Huttig led the Lions with 11 points, while Hunter Mowery scored 10 points, Andrew Mitchell scored five points, EZ Diemand scored four points and Tyler White scored three points.
