Lake Clear woman injured in car accident

A local woman was injured following an automobile accident in the village of Saranac Lake yesterday afternoon.

Saranac Lake Village Police say 58-year-old Terry Fountain of Lake Clear was operating her vehicle on Broadway at about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday when she stopped to make a left-hand turn onto Van Buren Street.

While waiting to turn, Fountain was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Alison Zerrahn of Saranac Lake.

Police say Zerrahn was unable to stop quickly enough due to inclement driving conditions.

Fountain told rescue personnel she was experiencing chest and neck pain. She was transported to the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake where she was treated and released.

Further information wasn't immediately available Wednesday morning.
