Propane truck crashes in Wilmington

A propane truck making deliveries to homes in the town of Wilmington slid off the road and crashed into a ditch yesterday morning.

According to reports, an AmeriGas propane truck was traveling along the Haselton Road in Wilmington at about 9:30 a.m. Monday when the accident occurred.

Officials say nothing leaked from the vehicle, which crashed near 1320 Haselton Road. State police did not release the driver's name, but said he was not injured.

Crews from the Essex County Hazardous Materials team were on-site Monday afternoon, while tow trucks pulled the truck from the ditch.

AmeriGas employees also assisted at the scene.
