Willsboro Willsboro native Sophie Clarke used an alliance and an immunity challenge to win the title of “Survivor.”
Clarke, who was one of 18 members of the cast of the CBS reality television series, made the final three after winning the final immunity challenge of the show.
Clarke also received her fourth and fifth votes of the series in the first of two eliminations during the three-hour finale Sunday, Dec. 18, but was not eliminated from the show as fellow competitor Rick was asked to leave.
In the first elimination, Clarke was clearly emotional when confronted by competitor Ozzie, who felt that she was not sociable.
In the final plea to the nine-competitor jury, others also questioned her social connections, which she admitted was a “weakness.”
“I thought it was a strength, I guess it was a weakness,” Clarke said.
With the win, Clarke won $1,000,000 and the title of “Survivor.”
"I'm still very excited right now," Clarke said in an interview with show host Jeff Probst after she had heard that she had won the vote of the jury of nine fellow competitors.
The vote was tied at 3-3 between her and fellow competitor "Coach," before Clarke earned the next three votes read and claimed the title and the money.
