Annually, money raised by the booster club goes to offsetting the high cost of equipment, assuring all that want to compete can do so. The food sale is to be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Curtis Lumber on River St.
Local history to be featured
Registration is now open through Sept. 15 for a guided tour of historic Thurman homesteads. The event, set for Sept. 17, includes a luncheon and trolley ride to in-depth visits at four old farms in Thurman. Destinations are the Meadowbrook Stock Farm, the Orley Needham Farm, the Thomas Gallup Farm, and the Will Cameron Farm. The tour is $13 per person and the lunch is $7. Prepayment is required; space is limited. Call 623-2692 for reservations.
