To the Adirondack Journal:
Many thanks go out to Ed Pennock and the Warrensburg town highway department crew of Glenn Bills, Slugger Corlew, Dan Daley, Dan Ackley, Keith Gillingham, Kevin Gillingham and Corey Cleveland — for the much-needed paving job on Alden Ave.
As a resident of Alden Ave. for the past 17 years, I have seen this road deteriorate. In the past, it’s been ignored when work should have been done. The countless expenses my neighbors and I have had to put into vehicle suspensions and repairs related to road conditions were extraordinary.
Since Ed Pennock has been highway superintendent, no quick fixes had to be endured anymore. Boulders and rocks that have caused the road to heave and buckle have now been removed, and proper culverts and drainage have been installed. I can now say for the first time in 17 years that I enjoy driving this five-mile mountain road.
Let’s not forget about all the other projects these hard-working individuals have accomplished under Ed Pennock’s supervision. Such achievements include upkeep on the roads after the torrential rains and flooding, street sweeping and pot hole repairs and plowing.
I know that when election time comes around, these labors should not be overlooked. Let’s re-elect Ed Pennock to another term so we can be assured of getting our money’s worth.
