Lois McClure in Essex

— The 88-foot-long replica of the historic sailing schooner, the “Lois McClure” will be docked at the port of Essex on Aug. 24 and Aug. 25. The schooner is open for public visitation between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The theme for this year’s Lake Champlain and Hudson River Valley ports-of-call will be the “2011 Farm, Forestry and Fishery Tour.” The tour aims to raise public awareness about the importance of sustainable agriculture, responsible forestry and clean, healthy waterways.
