Ticonderoga A new Tractor Supply Co. store, currently being constructed, is scheduled to open here in October.
The store will employ 12 to 17 full and part-time workers and will be located at 9 Commerce Drive, the former space of a marine dealer.
Ticonderoga Supervisor Debra Malaney said the town was lucky to have Tractor Supply Co.
“In this economy, Ticonderoga is extremely fortunate to have another new business locate here,” Malaney said. “Tractor Supply is a perfect fit for us and another indication of the success of our revitalization efforts.”
The store is a good match for the town because its an agricultural area, what the company specializes in, the supervisor said.
Malaney is grateful for the new jobs it would bring.
“Every town in our rural, upstate community is desperate for new jobs,” the supervisor said.
Buffalo Construction, Inc., from Louisville, Ky., is the contractor. Construction on the 25,000-square-foot store began on July 25.
