Wild weather and flooding will have no affect on this weekend's Daffest celebration in Saranac Lake.
That's according to Mayor Clyde Rabideau, who says the schedule remains the same and the show will go on.
Rabideau told WNBZ Thursday afternoon that event organizers won't be deterred by this week's weather or the risk of additional flooding.
"I talked to Cherrie Sayles and Daffest will continue and if we have to jump off the floats and grab more sandbags and make a dyke, we will - but that just proves the indomitable Saranac Lake spirit that we have," he said. "We're going to celebrate. Those daffodils are blooming right on cue, I don't know if it was the rain or what, but they'll continue to blossom right on through the weekend."
The roads in the village will be passable for the most part, Rabideau says.
The weather forecast is expected to turn around over the weekend, with partly sunny skies Saturday and clear skies Sunday.
