Photographer Robin B. Knapp lensed this eagle on a recent afternoon from aboard the Lake Champlain ferry between Chimney and Crown points. This eagle stayed in a tree near the Champlain Memorial Lighthouse until the ferry approached the dock; it then took off to join a convocation of other birds of a feather just north of Franklin's Cottonwood. The eagles were still in the trees when Knapp returned at twilight.
