Father-son roots duo headlines Maple Fest

HADLEY-Americana Roots musicians John and Orion Kribs will be headlining a series of performances at the Hadley Maple-in-April Festival on Saturday, April 30. The stage is located at the Rockwell Street Train Pavilion.

Singer-songwriter John Kribs, a guitarist who has opened shows for Joe Cocker, Robert Cray, and Arlo Guthrie, will be the event's master of ceremonies with a performance at noon with his son, Orion, who is a multi-instrumentalist like his father. Music begins at 10:30 a.m. with set changes every 30 minutes, concluding with a jam session at 2:30 p.m. Guest musicians are welcome to jam with John during this last session.

Other musicians in the Saturday lineup include the Mill Creek Band at 11 a.m., the D j Blues Band at 1:30 p.m., and the Hadley-Luzerne High School Jazz Band at 10:30 a.m. Entertainment also includes selections from the musical "Annie" by the Corinth Youth Commission Theater Group at 1 p.m. Spectators are invited to bring chairs.

John Kribs, the leader of the rockabilly group Johnny & the Triumphs, has toured internationally and performed on National Public Radio among many gigs over 40 years, including stints with the award-winning McKrells band and the Racquette River Rounders.

A variety of family-oriented activities are scheduled for the Maple-in-April Festival, to be held Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1.
