Collison killed man on Northway

WILTON - Paul Woodbury, 31, of Bomoseen, Vermont was driving north on the Adirondack Northway over the weekend and hit an 18-wheeler just south of exit 16, resulting in his death.

His car was pushed off the road and Woodbury was ejected from his vehicle. He was taken to Saratoga Hospital where he later died, according to state police.

The tanker truck, which was hauling orange juice, was traveling at a legal speed in the right lane when struck by Woodbury's vehicle, police said.

Police learned that Woodbury was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, but police suspect the crash was caused by driver error.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 36-year-old Steve Theriault, of Marieville, Quebec, was not injured.
