Carletti elected Ilsley board chairwoman

MIDDLEBURY - Sandra Carletti was elected as chairwoman of the board of trustees of Ilsley Public Library in Middlebury at the April meeting of the trustees.

Carletti was elected by the voters of Middlebury to a five-year term on the library board in 2008. She is professor of Italian at Middlebury College.

Also elected were David Andrews as treasurer and Peg Martin as corresponding secretary. Martin recently received the Middlebury Rotary Club's Freeman Award for outstanding community service. David Clark, library director, was appointed recording secretary.

The board welcomed Maria Graham following her election to the board at Town Meeting in March. Chris Watters is chairman of the board's building and maintenance standing committee.

The library trustees meet the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the library. The public is welcome to attend.
