SL police investigate burglary on Broadway

Police in the village of Saranac Lake are investigating a burglary that occurred last week at a downtown business.

An employee of H & R Block, located at 110 Broadway, said last week that the business had been broken into sometime during the weekend of April 16 and 17.

Saranac Lake Village Police Chief Bruce Nason confirmed that his officers were investigating the incident. But Nason declined to offer too many details at this point.

"We don't always give out information immediately," he said. "As we're interviewing people, we wait to see what they tell us and sometimes we can establish who did it."

Nason says someone was last at the business April 16. The burglary was discovered early on the morning of April 18.

"We haven't pinpointed a time, yet," Nason said.

Police are also investigating break-ins on Main Street and Cedar Street, where Nason says cash and change was stolen.

Anyone with information pertaining to these incidents is encouraged to contact police immediately at 891-4422.
