Village water chief awarded for expertise

LAKEGEORGE-The New York Rural Water Association has selected Village Wastewater Superintendent Reginald Burlingame as their "2011 Friend of Rural Water."

The award is given annually to a member of the organization that has contributed valuable services to the Association and his municipality. The association is a state branch of the national organization devoted to boosting expertise and providing training to meet challenges in providing pure municipal water.

Superintendent Burlingame is to receive the award at the annual technical conference of the Association to be held in Saratoga Springs May 11. This award is the third time Lake George village's superintendent has been honored. Burlingame is completing his 22nd year and is slated to retire in June 2012.

Village Mayor Robert Blais said Burlingame's award was well deserved.

"This honor recognizes Reggie Burlingame's valuable contributions to our municipality and the entire region," he said.
