Woman charged with public assistance fraud

QUEENSBURY- Carrielynn M. Mosher, 45, who currently lists her address as homeless, was charged with third-degree welfare fraud, fourth-degree health care fraud and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing after she allegedly failed to accurately report her household income when applying for temporary assistance.

She applied in February of 2009 and was unemployed at the time, according to police. Police reports show that she then began working in the summer of 2009 and continues to be employed. Mosher received more than $4,354 in temporary assistance and food stamp benefits and more than $7,995 in medicaid benefits, all of which she was ineligible for.

Mosher was arraigned in Queensbury Court and was released on her own recognizance.
