Willsboro

Another big spring deadline to accomplish is to get our income taxes in on time; well, the deadline has come and gone, hopefully our taxes will help provide the services that we all demand. Spring weather is having a hard time making its way to stay; it is still cold and windy. One more spring event happened this past week. The ice sank in Long Pond, and Lake Champlain is reported to be above flood level, with still more snow to melt in the higher regions. There has been a lot of activity at the new restaurant here in town. Look forward to an opening soon.

It is always a joy to welcome back some of our regulars; so welcome back to Frank & Ginny Rankin, Paula Calkins, and Martina Govier. I also heard that a few other summer residents have started to return to get their camps open. Sorry to learn of the smoke damage at Rick & Sarah Sayward's home on the Middle Road. Smoke damage is hard to clean up, so wish them the best. Spring also means cleaning up around our property; the Reber United Methodist Church is making an offer to help you get rid of any unwanted metal items. If you have any such items call Doug West at 963-7235 he will make arrangement to pick up your items, then the money redeemed will go to assist the church's fuel fund.

Easter time is upon us, this means the Willsboro Senior class has gone on their annual vacation, this year to Florida. This is the local school spring break week of vacation. All the local churches will be having Holy week services. The Willsboro United Methodist will celebrate Maundy Thursday at 6:30 p.m., Good Friday Service at the Congregational Church at noon. Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. at the Reber United Methodist Church with a breakfast to follow. Regular Easter Morning services at their regular times in all the churches.

Happy Birthday to: Melinda Knickerbocker April 24, Fred Knickerbocker April 25, Nicholas Boardman April 25, LeAnn Seneal April 26, Stan Dickenson April 29.
