Volunteer training classes offered

PORT HENRY- High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Care will hold a series of volunteer training classes starting on Wednesday, May 11, from 3 to 5 p.m.

There will be five, three-hour sessions on successive Wednesdays, with completion on Friday, June 3. Topics to be included are: Hospice Philosophy, Regulations, Spirituality and Bereavement, the Aging Process, and Emotional Support and Family Dynamics.

Patient volunteers are sought as well as office and fundraising event volunteers. All training sessions will be held at the offices of High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Care, 4322 Main St. in Port Henry. Volunteer applications may be picked up there during normal office hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or call 546-9850 to have one mailed.
