Quilts on display at Chester Library

CHESTERTOWN-A collection of 20 small quilts created by area crafters is now on display at the Town of Chester Library.

To continue through May, the display features work by the Pine Needles Quilters Group of Chestertown. The work of quilting group members Charlotte Hewitt, Nancy DiDonato, Linda Denner, Cathy Fariss, and Linda Zila are included in the display

The display not only showcases local artistry, but it is intended to promote the upcoming large-scale quilt show sponsored by the Wings Falls Quilt Guild, a group of over 100 quilters from the Glens Falls region.

The show, to include more than 200 quilts, is to be held June 4-5 at the Adirondack Sports Complex Dome in Queensbury just West of the Northway.

The show's theme, "Along the River," will be expressed in a quilt display of scenes inspired by the Hudson River.

This Queensbury show includes beautiful hand-appliqued raffle quilt, vendors, and demonstrations. For more information, view www.wingsfallsquilters.org.

The Chestertown display of mini-quilts is available during the library's regular hours: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, and 1 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays.
