Northway driver charged after reckless driving

WILTON - Clifford C. Johnson, 52, was stopped by state police near Exit 16 after a complaint was filed about a reckless driver on the Northway.

He was allegedly found to be driving under the influence of drugs, and possessed prescription drugs outside their container in the vehicle.

Johnson had a prior driving while intoxicated or driving while ability impaired by drugs conviction, which resulted in a felony DWAI charge.

He also was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and reckless driving, both misdemeanors, according to police.

Johnson was arraigned and sent to Saratoga County Jail for lack of bail.
