Hearing first-hand

Natsuki Mikami, an exchange student with the State University of New York at Plattsburgh's Japanese Cultural Association, speaks during a Japanese Awareness Day presentation at Northeastern Clinton Central High School March 25. The event was held in reaction to the recent earthquake that hit the island nation. According to high school principal Stephen E. Gratto, the event was held "to help educate students about Japan and its current misfortunes," as well as to raise money for a Japanese relief fund.
