Show to aid animal shelter

PORTHENRY-The Cat's Meow II, the second annual benefit show for the North Country SPCA, will be held on Friday, April 29, at Boni's Bistro on Main Street in Port Henry.

James Cawley as Elvis, Blaise Bryant and others will perform between sets of fashionably attired models wearing items from the Ticonderoga Methodist Church Thrift Shop. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 7 p.m. Foods, desserts and soft drinks will be available during intermission.

Tickets are $12.50 a person in advance or $15 at the door. A cash bar, door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and raffle items will be available during the evening. Profits will be donated to the North Country SPCA.

The North Country SPCA is a non-profit, no-kill shelter located in Westport, that serves all of Essex County. The shelter houses approximately 80 to 100 animals at any given time. All the dogs and cats are cared for until a permanent home can be found. The NCSPCA receives no funding from New York State, the federal government or the national ASPCA. The NCSPCA relies on donations from individuals for 85 percent of its budget. More information is available online at www.ncspca.org.
