LAKE GEORGE - Lake George has reduced the number of parking enforcement officers it plans to hire this summer from eight to five.
The reduction will help finance new pay-and-display parking machines along the west side of Canada St. and at the municipal docks, each costing about $11,000 apiece, according to officials.
Last summer, the village made $26,000 in fines. This summer, the fee will increase from $10 to $15.
