Copperfield appoints general manager

NORTHCREEK-Erik Karner has been appointed general manager of the Copperfield Inn in North Creek effective May 1.

"We are delighted to have Erik join us in taking on the important role of general manager and overseeing all of our day to day operations," said Joel Beaudin, managing member. "His addition to our team reinforces the Copperfield's reputation and commitment to be one of the finest resorts in the Adirondacks." Karner is currently the food and beverage manager at the Lodge at Woodloch in the Poconos. Since joining this AAA 4 Diamond resort in 2008, he has been instrumental in building it into one of the top destination spas in the country.

"The Copperfield is such a jewel in North Creek and I feel fortunate to return to the area to raise the resort's profile and create a greater regional and national awareness of all The Copperfield has to offer," said Karner.

Prior to his employment at the Lodge at Woodloch, Karner was the banquet and beverage manager at Saratoga Polo Association, following a ten year career at The Sagamore Resort in Lake George.

"Erik's appointment comes at an exciting time for us," said Michael Ellis, managing member. "While our room revenues are up an impressive 20 percent over the previous owner's best quarter, the food and beverage side of our operations still has considerable room for growth. Erik's breadth of experience and passion for this industry will be invaluable in building both our brand and this important area of our business."
