As of this week, Sweeney says the county knows the village is serious in pursuing what it's owed.
Branch said the village needs to continue reminding the county that it's serious.
"We have to remember that the money we did not receive was in our budget already, as it was in theirs," he said.
"As far as the comments in the newspaper from Mr. Burpoe are concerned, that we would only be suing ourselves, I think that was kind of a ridiculous statement," Branch added. "We would not be suing ourselves. We'd be suing Franklin County and we'd be acting in the best interest of the people here in Saranac Lake, the people whom Mr. Burpoe is supposed to be representing also."
The board voted 3-0 to pass the resolution. Tom Catillaz was absent from Monday's meeting.
