New way to delve into history
The Warrensburgh Museum of Local History has installed a digital picture device for viewing photographs from its collection.
Currently on display are dozens of historic photos of factory workers, primarily from the local shirt factory. The photos range from the late 19th century into the 1960s. Included are photos of dinner and picnic celebrations. The viewing device, a photo picture frame, is located in the museum section entitled, "Warrensburg Clothes the Nation" and it operates continuously.
The museum is open Wednesdays and Sundays, 1 to 4 p.m.
On Sunday, April 17, a special event will be held for those interested in the museum's ongoing exhibit, "Stock Car Racing at Ashland Park." Additional photos and artifacts have been added since the February opening. The Warrensburgh Historical Society would like to video-record informal conversations about these historic events, which took place in Warrensburg between 1952 and the early 1960s. Refreshments will be served.
The museum is located in the VFW Building at 3754 Main St. The entrance and parking are at the rear of the building. Admission is free.
