TICONDEROGA-Charlie Bolstridge has traveled the world, but he's happy to be in Ticonderoga.
"We're excited about the Adirondacks," said Bolstridge, the new pastor at Cornerstone Alliance Church in Ticonderoga. "We're looking forward to meeting more people in the Ticonderoga area and wish to be of service in their ministry."
Cornerstone Alliance Church will formally install Bolstridge Sunday, April 10, during a 6:30 p.m. service. It's open to the public. Refreshments will be served after the installation. Bolstridge comes to Ticonderoga with his family - wife PJ and children Charles, age 19, Jared, 17, and Rachel, 15.
The family is relocating from Concord, N.H., but Bolstridge received his pastoral training in Europe.
"We bring a unique international flavor to Cornerstone Alliance Church and the community," he said. "I did my studies at Word of Life in Hungary and worked there hosting and ministering to international students."
Bolstridge was an assistant pastor in Pittsfield, N.H., and is currently working on being ordained through the Christian and Missionary Alliance Denomination.
He spent his early career as a woodsman for the paper industry and later worked for UPS as a manager. He then did sales work for a polymer company.
He then felt that God was calling him to the ministry so he packed up his family and went to Word of Life Bible School in Hungary. While there the family was active in community life, hosting exchange students and working with local families on various projects. They have spent the last few years working in the ministry in New Hampshire.
Bolstridge has plans for his church and community.
Under his direction Cornerstone Alliance Church has formed a youth group for people ages 10-17. The group meets in Tuesdays 6-8 p.m.
The group is led by four college students from Word of Life, who will help with games and teaching. Snacks will be provided.
