Winter 'Warm Up' event

launches family fun tradition

The Lake George Land Conservancy hosted its first-ever Winter Warm Up event March 12 and is pleased to report the occasion, was a great success. The Warm-Up was held at the Lake George Recreation Center and entertained about 50 guests.

Among the activities were a guided snowshoe hike, downhill sledding, a scavenger hunt, roasting marshmallows by a bonfire; and creating wildlife creatures from natural materials.

"I'm delighted with the positive responses we've received from guests," event organizer Sarah Hoffman of the Conservancy said. "We are grateful to the business and individuals who helped make it happen."

Four soups were donated for the event by the Bank Caf and Bellas Delicatessen of Lake George, and Lakeside Lodge and Grille of Bolton Landing, as well as rolls by Rock Hill Bakehouse, she said.
