Persis "Perky" Granger" was appointed by the town board as a Thurman delegate to the county's First Wilderness Corridor committee which is envisioned to boost sustainable environmental tourism in the region. Meetings will be once every month, and anyone else interested in serving as a dele fate should call the town hall.

Supervisor Wood said that the Town offices had recently received many calls thanking the town highway employees for their hard work during the winter months in keeping the town roadways clear.

The town board also passed a resolution calling for competitive bids on liability and casualty insurance.

Meetings, events

The Thurman Youth Commission met recently to finalize plans for the town Easter Party to be held from 1 to 3 p.m. April 16. The event includes traditional crafts, egg coloring, a visit by the Easter Bunny, an Easter bonnet contest and an Easter Egg hunt to top it all off.

The town Occupancy Tax Committee is scheduled to meet with the Town Board at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 21 to develop and establish a Town Policy for occupancy tax grant applicants and recipients.
