Let them rest in peace

It has been brought to my attention someone took seasonal decorations of chrysanthemum flowers and scarecrows off of a grave at the Warrensburg Cemetery.

I know many graves there host personal memorabilia and decorations.

To the person or group of individuals who took the decorations off the late George Nemec's grave, I say, "How dare you?" Do we have to now start a vigilant patrol of our cemeteries?

Children's Hospital fundraiser slated

On Oct. 16, George Henry's Restaurant & Tavern in Warrensburg will host a fundraiser to benefit the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center.

To be held from noon to 3 p.m., the event will feature free food, live music and giveaways in addition to a raffle with all proceeds benefitting the Children's Hospital.

Raffle prizes have been donated by Cronin's Golf Course, Krystal Chrysler, Willows Bistro, Heck of a Pizza and several others. Dinner for two at the Sagamore Resort is one of the featured raffle offerings.

The fundraiser was organized by Matt Shelton. For details or to donate a prize or cash, contact Shelton at 623-2611.

Stony Creek Library news

Thanks go out to everyone who helped out at the concession stand this summer at the concert series in Stony Creek. The benefits from the concession go to support the library. The library trustees meeting is held on the second Tuesday of every month.
