Warrensburgh Riverfront Harvest Dinner set

WARRENSBURG - The third annual Warrensburgh Riverfront Harvest Dinner will be hosted Oct. 11, by The Grist Mill restaurant. Seating for this seven-course meal - intended to showcase locally grown, raised and prepared ingredients - will occur at 6 p.m.

To include dessert and wine pairing with each course, the dinner will be offered for $39.95 per person plus tax and gratuities. The event is sponsored by Warrensburgh Beautification and Adirondack Harvest in partnership with the Thurman Fall Farm Festival.

Event organizer Teresa Whalen said she urges area residents to partake in the culinary experience.

"Don't miss this unique opportunity to sample the bounty of our land while overlooking the beauty of our landscape," she said.

Garlic Festival set for local farmers' market

Vendors at Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmers Market will be selling many varieties of locally grown garlic at their weekly market session Friday, Oct. 8, from 3 to 6 p.m.

The week's edition of the farmers' market will include garlic-growing information provided by Cornell Cooperative Extension's Master Gardeners. Samples of dishes using garlic as the key ingredient will also be offered.

Titled the Warrensburg Garlic Festival, the event will include cooking contests with prizes awarded for the best foods featuring garlic in the following categories: appetizers, soups, pasta dishes, entrees and desserts. Demonstrations on how to decoratively display garlic will also be featured. For details, contact Teresa Whalen at 466-5497.
