Main Street to come alive with Harvest Festival street fair

NORTH CREEK - To compliment Gore Mountain's annual Harvest Festival, businesses on Main Street in North Creek have come together to offer a street fair next weekend. Locals and visitors alike will be treated to special events, vendors, live music and much more Oct. 9-10.

The event is sponsored by the Business Alliance and co-chaired by Kathy Feiden of The Foothills of the Adirondacks and Lisa Thomas of Trimmers Salon.

"So many people will be in town for the festival and many of those people don't know about Main Street," said Feiden. "We hope to introduce more people to the town and show off what we have."

Businesses along Main Street featuring specials and activities include Trimmers Salon and Basket Creations, Common Roots Restaurant, The Foothills of the Adirondacks, the Barking Spider, barVino, Rustic Homestead, Marsha's Restaurant, Hudson River Trading Co., Braley & Noxon, Poilema's and The Vault, Cafe Sarah and others.

Adirondack Spirits will display some of its inventory and host an outdoor wine tasting Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.

"North Creek is getting pretty vibrant and we want to showcase that," said Feiden. "We look forward to working with Gore Mountain in a cooperative effort to promote the whole area."

Feiden looks forward to getting the event off the ground and hopes it will return next year as a start towards becoming an annual event.
