Ticonderoga captures meet

Ticonderoga beat AuSable Valley, 19-41, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys cross country action Sept. 14.

The Sentinels dropped a 27-28 decision to Plattsburgh.

Jay Berube and Josh Cook went 1-2 for Ti. Berube won the race in 19 minutes, 7 seconds with Cook 11 seconds back.

Tyler Belden was 7th, Jacob Young 10th, Ben Karkoski12th, Kevin Densmore 13th, Pat Lonergan 16th and Brandon Charboneau 23rd for the locals.

Ticonderoga, unable to field a complete team, lost to Plattsburgh and AVCS in the girls meet.

Hannah Herbst paced the Sentinels, finishing fourth. Tabitha Taylor was sixth, Becki Barber seventh and Markie teRiele 13th for Ti.

Sentinels third at invite

Ticonderoga raced to third place in the Division II boys race at the Queensbury Invitational Sept. 18.

Ti scored 77 points. Schuylerville won with 38.

Jay Berube paced Ti, taking second place. He was clocked in 17:30, five seconds behind winner Joe Becker of Schuylerville.

Josh Cook was 11th for the Sentinels, followed by Tyler Belden 18th, Ben Karkoski 19th, Jacob Young 24th, Kevin Densmore 25th and Pay Lonergan 33rd.

Unable to field a complete team, Ticonderoga did not score in the Division II girls race.

Hannah Herbst led the Sentinels, finishing 33rd. Tabitha Taylor was 36th, Alaina Bevilacqua was 43rd and Marie teRiele was 47th.
