Schroon Lake scores win; Panthers fall

Schroon Lake toppled Willsboro, 4-2, in overtime in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference boys soccer play Sept. 16.

Jesse Shaughnessy scored twice for the Wildcats, while Kyle Devita and Anthony Vanderwalker also tallied.

Vanderwalker and Lance Paradis had assists for the winners.

Justin Wachowski made 14 saves in the Wildcat goal.

ELCS 2, Schroon 1

Elizabethtown-Lewis edged Schroon Lake, 2-1, in overtime in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference boys soccer play Sept. 14.

Brody Hooper's header in the second extra period proved to be the winner.

Jesse Shaughnessy scored unassisted with 43 seconds remaining in regular play for Schroon to force the OT.

Justin Wachowski made 12 saves in the Wildcat goal.

Johnsburg 3, Crown Point 2

Crown Point lost to Johnsburg, 3-2, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference boys soccer play Sept. 14.

After Johnsburg had taken a 2-0 lead at the intermission, Crown Point rallied in the second half to forge a tie on goals by Nathan Tabor and Mike Enman. Caleb McGuinness and Dan Groshans had assists for the Panthers.

Johnsburg then got a late score from Kevin Conner to notch the win.

Max Mesones made 24 saves in goal for Crown Point.
