This week the NCSPCA would like to announce our third annual "Fashion for a Passion," which will take place Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. at the VFW Hall in Mineville. Come see the latest in fashion for wedding and prom season for only $15 admission - all of which goes to support the North Country SPCA.
Elegant hors d'oeuvres will be served, there will be a huge basket raffle, and a cash bar is available. The show will feature local students and business owners modeling for Fashion Corner Bridal and Sagan's Mens Store. Please RSVP by Oct. 29. For event information or tickets, please call the North Country SPCA at 962-8604 and ask for Jill, or call 942-5250, 546-7842 or 597-3319.
Our featured pet this week is Max, a domestic shorthair-mix cat with a thick, midnight-hued coat highlighted with a white bib on his chest. Max is a very friendly and vocal little guy. He enjoys rubbing up against your leg and flopping at your feet in hopes you will rub his belly and scratch his ears. He has a thunderous purr that will soothe away even the most stressful day. Max is very playful and loves to chase just about anything you put in his path. He is an all-around great cat who is both affectionate and energetic. If you are looking for a feline with personality, Max is the cat for you.
You can meet Max and our many other adoptable animals at the NCSPCA on 23 Lakeshore Road in Westport. We are open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 4 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday by appointment. The NCSPCA is closed on Mondays.
