The weather is still nice, and with the leaves changing soon and the brisk air among us, what better reason to workout outside? Head over to the football/soccer field and try out this total body workout.
• Warm up - walk/jog 5 minutes
You will be using the perimeter of the field. Start at one corner and work your way around.
• 1 lap each
• Jog the long sections and sprint the short sections
• Jog the long sections, do alternating walking lunges on the short sections
• Jog each section, at each corner do pushups until failure
• Jog the long sections, do walking squats on the short sections
Repeat up to four times. Be sure to choose a level that is appropriate for you.
• Cool down - walk/jog 5 minutes
• Stretch
This is an intermediate/advanced workout. If you are a beginner, start slow and modify where necessary. For example, walk instead of jog; jog instead of sprint; do push-ups from your knees instead of standard push-ups, etc.
