Outdoor concert to keep the music alive

"It's just another event added to what should be what I consider a series that goes on throughout the entire summer," Dumong explained. "Use downtown. Get people to come out. Get people to sit and watch and enjoy and boost business downtown for everybody."

"I'm trying to just lead by example and hope that next year I'm not the only one paying for this and everybody jumps on board, because they'll realize that they're all making money on it," he added.

The concert is being put on with help from the city of Plattsburgh mayor Donald M. Kasprzak as well as the council members.

"The mayor was a great help and my hat goes off to him because ... they're going to pay for the tent, put up the stage," Dumont explained. "[Kasprzak] really pushed for it ... Without his support it wouldn't happen."
