On Sept. 8, the Southern Vermont Drug Task Force conducted an investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine in the Rutland area. The suspect in the investigation is Genghis Khan, 21, of Brooklyn, N.Y., who has been staying with local residents in the Rutland area.
The task force conducted two controlled purchases of crack cocaine from Khan.
When he was arrested, Khan was found in possession of approximately 11 more grams of crack cocaine. Khan was lodged at Marble Valley prison for a lack of bail. The Vermont Attorney General's Office will be handling the prosecution.
The investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine is continuing with the possibility of more arrests.
