Ticonderoga crash

A two-car accident sent a family of six and an elderly driver to the hospital in Ticonderoga Sept. 1.

Ticonderoga Police said Daniel Baker was driving with his family on Montcalm Street at about 11:30 a.m. when he drove through the Route 22 intersection and crashed into a northbound vehicle being driven by Eugene Sneeringer, 85, of Albany.

The crash sent both drivers to Moses-Ludington Hospital, as well as Baker's wife and four children, ages 11, 10, 10 and 6.

No serious injuries were reported.

Schroon arrest

A Schroon Lake man is in jail on three felony charges after allegedly stealing checks from an employer.

Peter Catalano, 37, was arrested Sept. 3 after the Schroon Lake Tavern filed a report that checks were believed to have been stolen.

Following an investigation, state police arrested Catalano and charged him with misdemeanor petit larceny and three felony counts of forgery.

Catalano was arraigned before Town of Schroon Lake Justice Jean Strothenke.
