Keystone Band rocks Outreach Center event

NORTH CREEK - The Ski Bowl Pavilion resounded with the classic rock sounds of the Keystone Band at the annual North Country Outreach Center Chicken Barbecue, held on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010.

The Keystone Band, composed of local musicians Blair and Barry Gregson, David Ochal and Herb Summer, donated their talent and time to entertain the many volunteers and diners who came out for the event. The barbecue is a major fund raiser for the Outreach Center's food pantry and this year was a huge success with nearly 200 meals served and in excess of $3000 raised. With winter fast approaching, these funds will enable the Pantry to provide even more nutritious, healthy food to those in need.

The Board of the North Country Outreach Center would like to thank everyone who came out and donated their time and support. This event would not have been possible without the involvement of volunteer extraordinaire Don and Joyce Lasher. These two amazing people not only raised the money to cover all the expenses of the barbecue, they also provided the equipment, set up and cooked the meals and brought a number of volunteers from their church, United Methodist Church of Queensbury to assist. Because of their selfless effort, every penny raised through tickets sales will go directly to the Food Pantry.
