Golden Rule Club has room for for all of us

If you take some time to help someone out and make them smile, it will make you feel better also.

Many disabled and elderly folks find themselves in need of a ride to the doctor's office, or they might need someone to pick up something for them at the grocery store - it can be done when a volunteer goes shopping for their own items. Little thoughtful gestures mean a lot when people can no longer accomplish everything for themselves.

Think of this as you make your plans for Make a Difference Day, which is coming up in October. And teenagers, why not babysit for a mother to give her a break from the home chores and allow her several hours off to do errands?

We also suggest that if you cannot visit a loved one who has been placed in a nursing home, remember them with cards and notes. A little gesture like this will definitely brighten up their days.
