Moriah Labor Day celebration

PORT HENRY - The Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union recently presented a check to the Moriah Chamber of Commerce to help fund the Labor Day celebration in Port Henry.

Upon receiving a letter from the Moriah chamber asking for donations to keep the tradition alive, Pamela Nolan, Ticonderoga Federal's COO, approved the donation.

"We are happy to support this community celebration again this year," said Nolan.

In addition to the monetary donation, the TFCU will sponsor Penelope the Clown, who will provide free face paintings and balloons to children at the parade on Sunday, Sept. 5.

Marcy Eichen, the credit union's Port Henry branch manager, presented the check to Jack Woods, president of the Moriah Chamber of Commerce.

A longstanding tradition in Port Henry, this Labor Day Weekend marks the 120th anniversary of the community celebration. The two-day event Sept. 4 and 5 features a parade, fireworks, music, and activities for all ages.

Established in 1954, Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union has been serving the needs of its members for 56 years. It currently operates three offices in Ticonderoga, in Port Henry in Elizabethtown. For more information on becoming a member of the TFCU, go to www.tfcunow.com
