Are your shots up to date?

August is National Immunization Awareness Month. Immunizations (shots or vaccinations) not only protect you from getting sick, but they can also keep you from spreading diseases to others. Take the time this month to remind your family and friends of the importance of immunizations.

Medicare Part B covers these shots to help you stay healthy:

• Flu Shot - Covered once a flu season in the fall or winter

• Hepatitis B Shot - Covered if you are at medium or high risk for Hepatitis B.

* Pneumococcal Shot - Covered to prevent pneumococcal infections (like certain types of pneumonia).
