Poultney man charged with grand larceny

On Oct. 9, at approximately 4 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to a report of a theft in progress from the Basin Ski and Bike Shop in Killington.

Basin Ski Shop employees reported that a male was last seen fleeing on a full-suspension mountain bike down the Killington Access Road. A Basin employee located two males and the bicycle off the access road in a restaurant parking lot.

The employee demanded the bicycle back which was already covered with a blanket in the back seat of a car. The males returned the bicycle to the employee and fled the scene. The Basin employees provided a license plate of the suspects vehicle which eventually led to the arrest of Craig House, 29, of Poultney.

House was issued a citation to appear in Rutland County Court to answer to the charge of Grand Larceny.

The Killington investigation is continuing and further arrests may be forthcoming.
