Fall is still a busy season here in our community. Hopefully many of you went to the open house of the newly renovated house on Mt. View Drive. Sam and Cheryl Blanchard have done an outstanding job of making this a real show place. If you missed it this past weekend, they will show it again on Oct. 16 and 17, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Many happy returns to Ed Collins on his 86th birthday. Ed is one of our valuable local citizens that helps us to recall historic events that took place here in Willsboro. Peter Gload celebrated his 85th birthday this past week. His family and some extended family enjoyed a good meal at the Harmony Restaurant. Those attending included his wife Mary, son David, SheilaVanags, Jack Maloney, Paula Calkins and myself. I learned that June Lincoln's two daughters from the west coast are here for a visit. June also just celebrated a special birthday. Hats off to a very special young 9-year-old lady, Madison Russell as she planned and with some assistance from her grandmother Dorothy Hoke treated her parents Claudia and Clarence Russell to a very special anniversary celebration.
Did you notice the new addition to the town? The Family and Friends of John Sheehan have erected an outdoor clock on the town hall lawn in his memory. They will be dedicating it Saturday, Oct. 23, at noon with a special ceremony. The public is welcome to join them. The Visitor's Center and Heritage Museum & Adsit Cabin are now closed for the season. The Willsboro Congregational Church will be having a public supper, Oct. 28, serving chicken and biscuits.
Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Judy Behan who passed away recently, she had been a long time resident of the senior housing units.
