Sentinels, Vikings crush gridiron foes

Ticonderoga crushed Seton Catholic, 40-0, in Northern Football Conference play Oct. 1.

The Sentinels dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, running for nearly 400 yards on offense and holding Seton to 108 yards on defense.

The balanced Ti offense saw seven players carry the ball and five score touchdowns.

Dan Morrison led the way, gaining 114 yards on just four carries and scoring a pair of TDs. Ryan Borho ran for 100 yards on just five carries with a touchdown.

Morrison got the rout started, scoring on TD runs of 26 and 35 yards in the opening period as the Sentinels grabbed a 13-0 lead.

Ticonderoga stretched its lead to 27-0 at the intermission as Frank Jebb scored on a crashed into paydirt from two yards away and Miles Austin scored on a 37 yard run.

Borho added a 76 yard scoring run in the third period and Garrett Cooper closed the scoring with a 47 yard TD run in the final period.

Dillon Lafferty booted four extra points for the locals.

Moriah 34, AVCS 8

Moriah broke open a close game in the second half as it beat AuSable Valley, 34-8, in Northern Football Conference play Oct. 1.

Nick Gilbo powered into the end zone from two yards away to give the Vikings a lead in the second period.

Moriah them put the contest away in the third quarter, scoring 20 points.

Gilbo again scored from two yards out and Tom Ida broke free for touchdown runs of 60 and 71 yards.

Zach DeSimone ended the scoring for Moriah, running in from four yards out in the fourth quarter.

Ryan Mascarenas kicked four extra points for the Vikings.

Trailing 34-0, AVCS scored with seconds remaining in the contest to avert the shutout.

Id finished the game with 236 yards rushing on 16 carries, Gilbo added 86 yards on 15 carries as Moriah pounded AVCS for 414 yards on the ground.
