Hacker chairman serves as keynote speaker at event

SILVER BAY - George Badcock, chairman and principal investor of The Hacker Boat Company, was the keynote speaker at the 12th annual David N. Deutsch & Company Saratoga Weekend at the Saratoga National Golf Club.

Each August, David N. Deutsch & Company, a New York City-based investment banking firm, hosts a gathering at an invitation-only weekend of executive business discussion and world-class polo and thoroughbred horse racing for clients, friends and their families in Saratoga Springs. Guests include senior managers of profit and non-profit organizations from around the world.

The weekend conversation spans issues of business, science, health, and personal growth.

This year's keynote segment was a conversation between Deutsch and Badcock, chairman of board of The Hacker Boat Company, based in Silver Bay and Ticonderoga. Billed as "The Art of the Wooden Boat: The Story of Hacker-Craft," Deutsch interviewed Badcock about the boating business, the recent revitalization and growth of the Hacker Boat Company and his career as an international businessman.

A 22‚ Hacker-Craft Runabout was positioned in front of the Saratoga National Golf Club during the event.

The Hacker Boat Company, founded in 1908, is the largest American manufacturer of classic mahogany motor boats. The company's corporate headquarters and storage facilities are located in Silver Bay. Production and restoration facilities are located in Ticonderoga.

Each Hacker-Craft is hand crafted at the company's new Ticonderoga production facility by master boat building craftsmen who spend over 1,500 hours of labor to build every boat. The Hacker Boat Company builds runabouts, sport boats, launches, tenders and utilities from 22 to 35 feet in length. The company also makes custom designed boats.
