Elizabethtown-Lewis 5, Schroon Lake 1

LEWIS - The Lady Lions continued their winning ways, defeating Schroon Lake in MVAC girls soccer Sept. 29.

Kylee Cassavaugh scored three goals, benefiting from two assists from Elizabethtown-Lewis midfielder Ashli Canabush. Crystal Grady and Emily Morris also scored.

Following Cassavaugh's goal to open the scoring, Schroon Lake tied it at one-all mid-way through the first half with a goal by Rebecca Armstrong, but the Lions regained momentum, finishing with a 22-8 advantage in shots.

Kearstin Ashline recorded seven saves in net for the win.

Westport 1, Crown Point 0 WESTPORT - The Eagles tallied their first win of the season against Crown Point in MVAC girls soccer action Sept. 29.

Christina Sherman gave Westport the edge midway through the second half in a highly defensive and closely contested match.

Westport goalkeeper Molly Rascoe had five saves, as did Panthers keeper Lauren Brace. The Eagles finished with a 9-7 advantage in shots.

Chazy 2, Willsboro 0

WILLSBORO - The Warriors held off unbeaten Chazy through an entire half, but couldn't salvage the tie in MVAC girls soccer Sept. 29.

Courtney Blanchard recorded a staggering 31 saves for Willsboro as they battled in their own side of the field for much of the game. Chazy finished with a 36-1 shot advantage.

The Eagles finally broke through early in the second half, however, when Kristen Doran found the net. Hannah Laurin gave them an insurance goal about 15 minutes later, but Chazy was held to their lowest scoring game of the year.

Elizabethtown-Lewis 6, Crown Point 0

CROWN POINT - Elizabethtown-Lewis made their shots count against the Panthers in MVAC girls soccer Oct. 1.

Kaitlin Coats and Emily Morris each recorded two goals as the Lions took a 4-0 lead into intermission. Katie Decker's goal opened the scoring early in the first half, and Lily Whalen scored with a direct kick. Kylee Cassavaugh added two assists while Ashli Canabush and Shona Brooks each had one.
