LPHS students receive national recognition

LAKE PLACID - About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Lake Placid High School principal Katherine Mulderig recently announced four students from LPHS have been named Commended Students in the 2011 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Honored students include Alec Marchuk, Allison Shultes and Great Zarro. Additionally, Conor Boughton has been named a Commended Student and is still under consideration for additional awards through the NMSC program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, will be presented by the headmaster to these scholastically talented seniors.
