The garden has been put to bed.
Kathleen Donnelly, Dorothy Swensen and I finished up the work that we had been doing at the garden last week. The mulch is spread and the pile of wood chips has been used up. We have removed all of the non wintering bulbs (anyone need some garnet colored dahlias?). Even in its dormant stages the garden is beautiful.
I would like to thank all of the gardeners and the town highway crew that have made this project a success. North Creek has a beautiful perennial garden that they can be proud of thanks to you all. We are looking forward to spring and a new beginning with many more surprises popping out of the ground.
I would also like to thank Kurt and the Gore Mt. Workers for spreading the hay on our new project by the Ski Bowl Building. Kelly and I are hoping to do some simple landscaping to make the pavilion and Ski Hut more pleasing to the eye. Stay tuned.
We will be hoping for some of you to join us for a project in the spring. Soil and Water Conservation has agreed to hydro- seed the area for us.
